The Class of 2017

This page will be a source of information surrounding the steps involved in preparation for August 12, 2013: our first day of Orientation. We will provide a timeline that will allow all of you to have the various forms and processes completed prior to Orientation to allow that week to be a time when you can get to know one another, our school, and our curriculum. The instructions for completing and submitting each form will be outlined. There will be a few sections: Admissions; Student Affairs; Financial Aid.


Official Transcripts are due to the Office of Student Affairs and Admissions by July 1, 2013.

Health Insurance 2013-2014
Health insurance is required for all students attending Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Rowan University offers a comprehensive health plan through United Healthcare PPO designed specifically for students. Please contact Heidi Ashton at 267.880.2300 or with any questions regarding United Healthcare PPO. Please familiarize yourself with the plan benefits:

Health insurance enrollment is an online process and must be completed annually by EVERY student. Whether you are selecting the school-sponsored plan or are requesting to waive, your decision must be made by July 1, 2013.

PLEASE NOTE: Students will be automatically enrolled and charged the health insurance premium cost if the CMSRU Waiver Form is not submitted by July 1, 2013.

Disability Insurance
The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) has mandated that all medical students carry disability insurance. We have arranged this through American Medical Association (AMA) Med Plus Advantage. The cost last year was $48 for the 2012-2013 academic year. This is also part of Student Fees. If this charge changes it will be posted here. After August 12, please complete the following steps.

Student Assistance Program (SAP)
Cooper Medical School has developed a comprehensive program of support for our students. The annual charge for SAP was $38 this year and will be included in Student Fees. Any change in this fee will be posted.

Immunization Record (IR) It is your responsibility to have this completed prior to 8/1/12. Please mail, email ( or fax (856-361-2801) the form to us using your last name and IR (Smith.IR) if emailed. The record will be reviewed and kept in the Student Health Office where you will have a file.

Initial Health Evaluation (HP) This will need to be completed by your care provider and sent to us prior to 8/1/12. Much of the information you can provide but it will need to be completed and signed by the health provider. All information will be stored confidentially and all HIPPA rules will be followed. If emailed, store and name as last name.HR (Smith.HR).

Student Parking 2013-2014
CMSRU student parking will be available for an additional charge at the Camden County Improvement Authority (CCIA) Parking Garage, adjacent to Cooper University Hospital. The number of spaces and charges are in negoitation. This year the charge was $1,808.30 inclusive from August 1, 2012-July 31, 2013. Students are charged $890.50 on the fall semester bill and $917.80 on the spring semester bill (in addition to your tuition and fees). Apply for a credit based Federal Graduate Plus Direct Loan AND sign the Federal Graduate Plus Direct Loan MPN electronically by logging onto


Apply for a Private/Alternative Education Loan directly with any lender you choose and submit the request form to the office after your credit check is approved.
