"I was on the fence about a career in medicine before I did MEDacademy, but after the four weeks I got to spend at CMSRU visiting the cadaver lab, learning from faculty and meeting physicians, I was not only sure I wanted to be a doctor but I was also sure I wanted to come to CMSRU. I applied to Rowan's 3+4 BS/MD program and was fortunate enough to get accepted. Everyone at CMSRU is always so eager to answer your questions and provide guidance which is a huge comfort since the decision to become a physician can be incredibly daunting."

Have you ever wondered about becoming a doctor? MEDacademy can provide a one-of-a-kind opportunity to explore the world of medicine. Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is looking for highly motivated and talented high school students interested in becoming a physician. If you will be a rising high school junior or senior in summer 2021, MEDacademy may be the medical education program for you.
The four-week summer day program introduces high school students to medical school and helps to refine their particular interest in health care. Historically, students are exposed to four featured medical specialties and participate in lectures, hands-on demonstrations, case-based learning activities, and interactive clinical simulations taught by our faculty, medical students and staff. Students experience firsthand what it is like to be a doctor, learning from featured guest speakers and guided tours of Cooper University Hospital. To conclude the full medical school experience, students present a final group project during a graduation ceremony.
MEDacademy will again be offered virtually in summer 2021. Students who complete the program successfully will receive 3 undergraduate credits that can be applied directly to the Biology major at Rowan University.Summer 2021 Dates: July 6-30, 2021
