Sponsor a WHITE COAT NOTE for a New Medical Student
This is a year unlike almost any other, and yet, some traditions must be celebrated.
The 2020 White Coat Ceremony will remain an impactful milestone that allows our CMSRU community to come together creatively to celebrate our newest CMSRU medical students as they prepare to become leaders in medicine. This Ceremony reaffirms our community’s support of the educational process that prepares future physicians for practice as our medical students pledge their commitment to their profession and to the health of the patients they will serve.
White Coat Notes offer that special type of inspiration to our new medical students. These Notes are a warm welcome, words of encouragement, sage wisdom, and honest advice. Notes will be placed in the pockets of our 112 students’ new white jackets before they put their Coats on for the first time at the Ceremony. The event will be presented virtually for family, friends, and past and future mentors and colleagues as they proudly watch their favorite medical students don their White Coats for the first time. Through the purchase of a Note, you can participate in this meaningful program. And best of all, White Coat Notes helps raise money specifically to support Student Activities at CMSRU and the SGA Endowed Scholarship Fund.
Another highlight of the White Coat Ceremony will be a welcome from the Medical Staff at Cooper Hospital. The Medical Staff will present a Stethoscope to each member of the Class. This special gift to each future physician is proudly given from our current physician leaders in support of and encouragement for our students’ journeys of lifelong learning. The combination of White Coats and Stethoscopes is symbolic of the professionalism that is expected of students during medical school and as physicians. They represent competence, communication, caring, character, and compassion. This truly is a day to celebrate our future.
