About

The Edward D. Viner Center for Humanism, Professionalism, Medical Ethics and Law officially launched in 2019. Funded by generous supporters, its mission is to discover, refine and promote state-of-the-art tools to foster the development of humanistic and professional healthcare practitioners.

Since its founding, the Center’s impact has grown substantially. Our accomplishments include:

  • Expanding humanistic curricular offerings across all four years of training at CMSRU
  • Receiving numerous grants to fund innovative interventions aimed at improving communication and educational efforts
  • Developing new and on-going collaborations with multiple departments within Cooper University Health Care
  • Directing and participating on cross disciplinary committees and teams such as: Hospital Ethics Consultation; Racism and Medicine ad hoc committee, Committee on Improving Care at the End of Life
  • Publications on the impact of the educational and healthcare tools it has implemented

As our Center continues to grow, we are eager to form new collaborations and partnerships. We look forward to hearing from you.
