Building the Medical School of the Future  

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is a newer medical school situated in Camden, New Jersey, and supported by the state of New Jersey to be part of the transformation of Camden and the surrounding urban and rural communities. CMSRU opened in response to the growing population, the aging baby-boomer population, the projected shortage of physicians in the United States, and the shortage of capacity in US medical schools. After more than a decade of educating future physicians, CMSRU has achieved a reputation for being a mission-driven, innovative medical school and has achieved national recognition for its commitment to the community.
