About Me
Dr. Doremus is a licensed clinical psychologist who specializes in health psychology at Cooper University Health Care. In addition to providing direct patient care he supervises psychology trainees (pre-doctoral externs and interns as well as post-doctoral fellows) on the Behavioral Medicine Consultation-Liaison service. His specific clinical focus involves patients who engage in aggression and care-interfering behaviors, developing personalized behavioral care plans, and supporting staff in effective engagement with this population.
Dr. Doremus’s current research aims to develop an adaptive psychological pain intervention which can be effectively delivered in a brief clinical setting. Additionally, he seeks to expand current understanding of the composition and role of psychological consultation-liaison teams in acute care settings, and has published his work in peer-reviewed journals. He is an active member of the Association for Psychologists in Academic Health Centers, New Jersey Psychological Association, and the American Psychological Association.
