About Me

Dr. Constantinescu graduated from Boston University School of Medicine, and received a PhD in immunology from the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his internship in internal medicine, residency in neurology, and fellowship in neuroimmunology at the University of Pennsylvania and affiliated hospitals and received further post-doctoral research and clinical training at the University of Basel, Switzerland.

Prior to his arrival at Cooper, he was Professor and Chair of Neurology and Head of the Section of Clinical Neurology in the Academic Unit of Mental Health and Clinical Neuroscience at the University of Nottingham, and Attending Neurologist at the Queen’s Medical Centre, UK, where he ran an MS Clinic and a Neuroimmunology Clinic, and led a neuroimmunology laboratory investigating biomarkers and inflammatory aspects of neurodegenerative diseases.

His clinical and research activities focus on biomarkers and treatment of neuroinflammatory/neurodegenerative diseases and cognition in neurological disease.
