About Me

Catharine Mayer, MD, is a board-certified sports medicine specialist. Prior to joining Cooper Bone and Joint Institute, she practiced with 3B Orthopaedics. Dr. Mayer completed her sports medicine fellowship at Drexel University College of Medicine. She earned her medical degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Methodist Hospital-Indiana University in Indianapolis, IN.

Dr. Mayers clinical practice encompasses a diversity of recreational athletes with sports-related and overuse injuries. In addition, she has a broad clinical practice of adult patients with degenerative joint disease and osteoarthritis. Dr. Mayer also has a strong clinical interest in sports issues unique to female athletes including bone health and stress fractures, as well as osteoporosis screening and prevention. Prior to specializing in sports medicine, Dr. Mayer spent 10 years focusing on women's health advocacy and preventive medicine, giving her unique perspective with female athletes.

Dr. Mayer maintains practice locations with the Cooper Bone and Joint Institute in Voorhees, Marlton, and Blackwood, NJ.
