Kevin Currie, PhD

Professor of Biomedical Sciences

About Me

Kevin Currie, PhD, is a tenured professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences. Dr. Currie earned his PhD in physiology from the University of London and completed post-doctoral training at the University of Chicago before joining the faculty of Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2002. He served as assistant professor and then associate professor of anesthesiology and pharmacology at Vanderbilt before joining CMSRU in 2017.

At CMSRU, Dr. Currie serves as a facilitator for an M1 ALG group and teaches physiology to both M1 and M2 students. His research in cellular neurophysiology has been supported by multiple grants from the American Heart Association and National Institutes of Health, and continues in his lab at CMSRU.
