Amanda Smolinsky, PhD

About Me

Amanda Smolinsky, PhD, joined CMSRU in August 2024 as an assistant teaching professor in the biomedical sciences department. Dr. Smolinsky teaches gross anatomy, facilitates an active learning group, and is involved in CMSRU’s summer pipeline programs. She earned her doctorate in integrative anatomy from the University of Missouri-Columbia, where she received training in clinical anatomy, vertebrate evolutionary morphology, and science outreach. Her research interests focus on the evolution and plasticity of the musculoskeletal system in relation to locomotion. Following her doctorate, Dr. Smolinsky completed a postdoctoral fellowship in anatomy at Rocky Vista University and went on to teach undergraduate biology at Roanoke College and Saint Norbert College.
