Research and Student Training Opportunities

CMSRU biomedical scientists and faculty members are leading the charge to enhance research initiatives, because research is important. Research enhances knowledge, leads to innovation and success, improves the quality of education and life, helps find truth, and allows for continuous improvement. In addition, it is vital to find ways to enrich our medical students’ experiences outside the classroom with research opportunities.

The CMSRU Research Department initiatives will continue to grow with your support, and CMSRU is striving to expand its efforts to offer students the opportunity to conduct research under the direction of CMSRU faculty. Research can prove helpful to many students developing and completing their capstone projects.

Your investment in Research and Student Training is greatly appreciated and will support the following:

  • Enhancing CMSRU lab work.
  • Offering more research internships during the summer between M1 and M2 years so that students can work full-time on their specific research projects on campus during the summer (and many times later).
  • A summer research award provides a stipend of at least $2,500 for a medical student.
  • Additional support will help provide travel funding opportunities for research conferences and lab needs for summer internships.
