Accessibility Services

In keeping with its goal to promote diversity among its student population, Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is committed to attracting and educating students with disabilities, ensuring equal access to its facilities, programs and services are made available.

To be eligible for an accommodation, a student must have a documented disability as defined by the ADA and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. A reasonable accommodation is a modification or adjustment to an instructional activity, facility, program or service that enables a qualified student with a disability to have an equal opportunity. Both the ADA and Section 504 define disability as: a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities; a record of such impairment; or being regarded as having such a condition. In order to respect your privacy and ensure a thoughtful interactive process, please contact the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at:

Request an Accommodation

Students are encouraged to apply for reasonable accommodations upon acceptance into the medical education program to begin this process as soon as possible. However, applications for accommodations may be submitted at any time. All requests are reviewed and determined in a timely manner. Included below is the step-by-step process for requesting an accommodation. Remember, your inquiry is confidential, and students are welcome to obtain general information about accessibility services without registering.

In order to request an accommodation at CMSRU, students must submit documentation of their disability. Eligibility for services and reasonable accommodations are determined with regard to disability documentation, student report of how their condition impacts them, perceived need for an accommodation, history of an accommodation, (if any) and program requirements, including technical standards. Review the full list of documentation guidelines at CMSRU here.
