Standing Committees


  • Academic Standing Committee: Considers the matter of academic standing of medical students.
  • Admissions Committee: Responsible for applying the requirements for admission to the MD program of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) and deciding which candidates meet the requirements and are admitted.
  • Advisory Committee on Appointments & Promotions (A&P): Advises the Dean as to appointments, reappointments, and promotions.
  • Curriculum Committee: Develops, reviews, and establishes policies regarding the curriculum for the MD degree and develops standards for evaluation of the education program at CMSRU.
  • Faculty Development Committee: Plans educational activities for the professional and personal development of Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) faculty meeting both Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) and Graduate Medical Education (GME) needs.
  • Nominations and Elections Committee: Develops a slate of candidates for all faculty elections.
  • Research Committee: Encourages and strategically coordinates research activities by faculty and students and advises the Dean on general policy related to research.
  • Rules of Procedure Committee: Ensures Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) procedures are following the policies and procedures of Rowan University and the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) Bylaws. Proposes amendments to the Bylaws.
  • Committee on Diversity and the Learning Environment: Advises, assesses, and monitors the progress of programs aimed at fostering diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU).
  • Library and Informatics Committee: Joint Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU)/Cooper University Health Care (CUHC) committee. Makes recommendations concerning library policies and information on academic technology services.
  • Conflict of Interest Committee: Develops, reviews, and makes policy recommendations regarding conflicts of interest.
  • Committee for Positive Learning Environment: Provides education about creating a learning environment conducive to education and professionalism for faculty, staff, nursing, residents, and students as a means of preventing mistreatment of students and other trainees.
  • Continuous Quality Improvement Committee (CQI): The CQI Committee is responsible for monitoring and evaluating all aspects of CMSRU programs.
