Media Relations Policy

To effectively facilitate requests from media reporting on news and events at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University, the Marketing and Communications office has established the following guidelines for reporters requesting information or interviews:

• Media must arrange all interviews and photo shoots with staff or students in advance through the Marketing and Communications office within the Office of Finance, Administration and Operations.
• For security reasons, reporters, film crews, and photographers must always be accompanied by a member of the Marketing and Communications office while on the campus.
• A member of the Marketing and Communications team will participate in all interviews and interactions between the media and students or faculty as a witness, unless an exception is granted prior to the interview. This policy is in effect for both telephone, electronic and in-person interactions/interviews.
• Media will be met by a Marketing and Communications representative in the lobby or specified location and escorted to the appropriate location in the building.
• Students who agree to be interviewed or filmed at Cooper Medical School must sign a release form or have one on file. Cooper Medical School of Rowan University faculty and staff are not required to sign a release form, but must verbally consent to the interview.
