James. B. Alexander, MD, FACS, awarded "Fellow" certification in the Association of Surgical Education Academy of Clerkship Directors

He is one of six members of the Charter group of surgeons who were awarded Academy Certification at the organization’s annual meeting in Seattle, WA in April 2015. Dr. Alexander is Professor of Surgery and General Surgery Program Director at Cooper Medical School of Rowan University in Camden, NJ. He has served as surgical Clerkship Director for over 20 years both there and at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ.
 
Academy Certification signifies serving as a medical school surgery clerkship director, scholarly activity in surgical education and participation in Association of Surgical Education research and faculty development. The Association of Surgical Education’s mission is to promote, recognize and reward excellence, innovation and scholarship in surgical education. The organization was founded in 1980 and its 850 members represent over 190 medical schools and institutions throughout the United States and Canada.
