Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

 

Cooper Medical School of Rowan University (CMSRU) is open, and the majority of employees are now working remotely. Please note that the medical education building at 401 S. Broadway is now closed. CMSRU students will begin participating in online classes beginning March 23, 2020.

 

At the recommendation of the AAMC and LCME, clinical experiences for all CMSRU students are now suspended through March 31, at which time the situation will be reassessed. Clerkship directors are developing alternate experiences to ensure students meet their educational objectives. Professionals from CMSRU's Medical Education Department will share plans directly with the affected students.

 

At this time, only pre-approved essential employees who need to be physically present in the medical education building will be granted access. Additionally, CMSRU will no longer accept deliveries for students residing at Cooper Village or elsewhere in Camden. Please alert delivery services immediately. CMSRU is working with Cooper Village management to implement Amazon Key so that Amazon packages can be delivered inside the buildings, reducing risk of theft. More details to follow. The Class of 2020 Match Day celebration at CMSRU is canceled. CMSRU urges students who share their personal celebrations on social media to use #CMSRUmatch so we can re-share on the school's social media accounts.

 

The best way to stay healthy is to arm yourself with facts. To help, Rowan University has established a website – rowan.edu/virusinfo – loaded with resources and quick answers to common questions. The site will be updated regularly as additional information comes in.
