CMSRU Professor Dr. Stephen Trzeciak Honored at Rosalind Franklin University Commencement

June 4

Dr. Stephen Trzeciak, professor of medicine and chair of the department of medicine, was recently honored with an honorary doctorate degree during the 111th Commencement Ceremony at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where he also delivered the keynote address.

In his remarks, Dr. Trzeciak emphasized the vital role of compassion and connection in modern healthcare. “Some might say that artificial intelligence (AI) is taking over, so compassion and human connection are soon to be quaint relics of the past,” he told the graduating class. “Nothing could be farther from the truth. In fact, as our technical expertise becomes eclipsed by AI, our humanity will matter more than ever.”

A leading voice in humanistic medicine and the co-author of Compassionomics, Dr. Trzeciak encouraged graduates to embrace resilience through relationships and to let compassion guide their professional journeys.
